DXTERA INSTITUTE and SMART REPUBLIC are pleased to announce the launch of the International Joint Venture Company SMART CAMPUS, based in Paris, France.

DXTERA INSTITUTE is a non-profit, collaborative, member-based consortium engaged in the business of helping higher education professionals drive more efficient access to information and provide insights for effective decision-making.

SMART REPUBLIC is engaged in the business of creating, developing and maintaining holistic and multi-impact platforms and new tech applications and tools to promote sustainable development.

Through this Joint Venture Company both parties have decided to unite their efforts in these critical times to face technology and sustainability challenges in the fields of education technology, smart social services, social impact, impact investment tools, and  through the creation of a new global, federative, and open sustainable social knowledge network.

Purpose

The new jointly owned company aims to address the targets of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 2030 Agenda, namely through social networks and creating, selling and licensing software and providing support for next generation technology solutions.

 Overview of Smart Campus

The Smart Campus platform is designed to serve as a social network for defining and navigating knowledge taxonomies and learning pathways with the goal of addressing sustainable practices through global awareness and education. Its architecture is modular and federative and can be repurposed to support other knowledge domains such as urban and rural development, impact investment, decentralized service platforms and educational activities.

In collaboration with convergent initiatives, we will further consider new ways of addressing urban interconnectivity challenges, Sustainable Data management and new social impact tools accessible to citizens.

The platform will be enhanced using AI and other machine learning technologies, maximizing the user experience.  Smart Campus is committed to minimizing the carbon footprint and environmental impact, in line with net zero emissions targets.

 

Current context and COVID Challenges

Through this endeavour we will do our utmost to bring together knowledge communities being impacted by and striving to defeat Covid-19, through an approach combining sustainability and social criteria.

The Smart Campus Platform can be utilized to assist with meaningful and timely knowledge exchange in the health care, research, and government response sectors.

 International call to action

The Smart Campus Joint Venture company is based in Paris, France and aims to serve as a truly global hub for innovation, research, and collaboration, creating an international bridge between the European and American knowledge ecosystems and well beyond.

We take this occasion to affirm our support to United Nations and multilateral agency sponsored initiatives devoted to furthering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as our support to other convergent initiatives in the fields of sustainable education, smart social services, impact investment, tracking solutions, telecommunications and efforts to create a new global, federative, and open Sustainable Social Network.

2020 has been a difficult year, posing new challenges which force us to completely rethink our ordinary activities such as work, play and education.

By creating the Smart Campus Joint Venture, we hope to contribute to charting new forms of sustainable collaboration with a growing community of global partners contributing creative thoughts and deeds to make 2021 a pivotal year for innovation and recovery.
